When The WildWest mod was created 5 years ago, no one ever imagined it would last as long as it did, or provide as much enjoyment to as many people all over the world. But, like any other technological item, it has a shelf life. That shelf life has, for the most part, expired.

Hewster, the co-creator of WW has moved on to other projects, as has BoltyBoy. Hewster was approached with the idea of releasing the source code, but decided not to. The mod team has done as much with the mod as they feel is practical. The InSynerate forum goes for months with no posts.

The time has come to let it go. There will be no more enhancements or code changes. It is unlikely that there will be much in the way of new maps, if any.

Effective 10/03/2007, the mod team will officially disband and the forum will be shut down.

Thanks to everyone who helped make The WildWest what it is, and what it was.

It has been a lot of fun.

Active Wild West Forums

Greetings folks,

With the end of further developement of the Wild West mod for RtCW we've shut down these forums for active posting. We will be leaving it up for refference.

But Wild West isn't dead. There are several forums where you can still chat and post to other Wild West players.
